Wow, what a wonderful weekend! If you can’t make it to SDCC, the second best thing is to spend the weekend in video conferences with lots of other cartoonists, in a virtual Artists’ Alley, showing off your work and chatting with whoever drops in. Thanks to Ryan Fisher and Casey Curtis of Gin & Comics — and a slew of others who contributed time, effort, and their august presences — The Non Con was a rousing success!
I met tons of people whose comics I’ve read before, like Irma of Imy, and Jeff Couturier of Horde of Neurons, and saw my good friend Dawn Griffin, of Zorphbert and Fred. There were a lot of people I’d never met before, whose comics I hadn’t read before, but I will be reading in the future!
I worked on this week’s comic while others worked in video windows next to mine, while other people watched me work in a redirected desktop. It was a real blast.
